Foreign Parts

Documentary / USA / 80 min / In English, Spanish and Hebrew with English subtitles

Directed by
Verena Paravel and J.P. Sniadecki

For some immigrants, survival becomes a way of life. For a group of immigrants living in Queens, N.Y., that way of life involves living and working in a maze of auto shops and junkyards, where recycling and garbage dumping serve vital functions. Co-directors Verena Paravel and J.P. Sniadecki document the inhabitants’ struggles even as the city of New York plans to move them to make space for a new baseball stadium. (Coarse language.)

JP Sniadecki is scheduled to attend.
