Who Bombed Judi Bari?

On May 24, 1990, Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney carbombed themselves. Or, at least, that’s what the FBI claimed after their car exploded with them inside. Who Bombed Judi Bari? tells the story of the bombing and of Bari’s position at the center of the Earth First! movement.  

Please note that Darryl Cherney is no longer able to attend SpIFF.

Le Tableau (The Painting)

This wryly inventive animated parable takes us into the world of a painting that portrays a kingdom divided into three distinct castes: the impeccably painted “Alldunns,” the incomplete “Halfies” and the charcoal-outlined “Sketchies.” Their quest: to discover just what the Painter has in mind for all his creations.

The Mountain Runners

The Mountain Runners is based on the true story of the Mount Baker Marathon races that took place from 1911 through 1913 and are widely thought to be the first adventure races ever held in the United States. The races would pit modified Model A cars against a special train and amateur runners against the slopes of Mount Baker.

this ain't california

A rollicking, transgressive look at skateboard culture in communist East Germany. As the title suggests, the filmmakers believe skateboarding the eastern bloc wasn't about wanting to be more American, just to be more free, and came as a natural, youthful response to repression.
