Released from prison, Jan (Pal Sverre Valheim Hagen) tries to reconnect with a society that doesnŐt easily accept child killers. Yet Jan has always insisted that the victim in question, a 5-year-old boy, died by accident. Trained behind bard as an organist, he takes a job with a local church, and his music proves truly inspiring. Pretty soon he connects with the pretty young pastor (Ellen Dorrit Petersen) and her own young son. But JanŐs path to a normal life gets sidetracked when the dead boyŐs mother (Trine Dyrholm) hears him playing, figures out who he is and becomes obsessed with forcing him to face up to, and reveal, the truth of what happened.
