Mid-length/Short Film File & Format Specs
SpIFF prefers to receive hi-res files of Mid-length and short films, which we then compile on a Blu-ray disc. Other formats are available by prior arrangement.
Video:
Accepted Video file formats:
- ProRes 444/or ProRes 422 (HQ) – please avoid ProRes 422 LT unless it’s all you have. ProRes 422 (Proxy) is unlikely to be good enough to project.
- Avid DNxHD, either as MXF files or in a QuickTime container. Ideally DNxHD 175x (10-bit), but if 8-bit or DNxHD 115 are all you have, we’ll work with that.
- MPEG2 Program or Transport Steams at a minimum of 20Mbps. We avoid H.264 unless it’s 4:2:2 encoded, Blu-ray spec.
